Keuka College’s Spotlight Series continues Thursday, March 28, with a reading by poet Nicholas Friedman.

Free and open to the public, the reading begins at 7 p.m. in Hegeman Hall 109.

Mr. Friedman, a Syracuse native, serves as a Jones Lecturer in Poetry at Stanford University. He is therecipient of a Wallace Stegner Fellowship from Stanford University and a Ruth Lilly Fellowship fromthe Poetry Foundation.

His first book of poems, Petty Theft, earned the 2018 New Criterion Poetry Prize. The literary magazine for which the award is named, The New Criterion, is recognized as one of the foremost contemporary venues for poetry that pays close attention to form.

In Petty Theft, Mr. Friedman cultivates the strangeness of daily life and turns an unsentimental eye to joy, catastrophe, and myriad stations in between.
