The Penn Yan Academy Culinary Arts Club celebrated the conclusion of their immersive culinary experience by making a final dinner for family and friends at New York Kitchen in Canandaigua. 

Chef Jeffory McLean, Chef/Owner of Finger Lakes Foodies, and Gretchen Jensen, Family and Consumer Science/Career Technical Education teacher, presented the PYA Culinary Arts Club members with their certificate of completion.  

The goal of the PYA Culinary Arts Club for the students is to promote healthy nutrition education, learn the skill sets necessary for entry-level positions in culinary arts, incorporate these skills in their daily lives, and enhance interest in pursuing further education in culinary arts, hospitality, and tourism. As part of the program, students experience valuable, career-related work exploration, integrate employability skills, incorporate real world math and science, and gain a better knowledge base of opportunities in the industry and our Finger Lakes community.
