In a rematch of the thrilling championship game of the Keuka Classic Tournament last week, the Watkins Glen All-Star team gained a measure of revenge as they defeated the Penn Yan All-Stars 8-4 in Penn Yan Monday night.

Watkins Glen got on the scoreboard first as they pushed a run across in the top of the second inning when Penn Yan pitching gave up three walks, scoring on an errant pickoff attempt at third base. The team exploded for five runs in the top of the third inning on six hits to make it 6-0. Watkins added two more runs in the top of the fourth inning to hold an 8-0 lead.

Penn Yan finally scored in the bottom of the fourth inning as Colin Johnson, who was aboard on an error, and Logan Miller, who walked, were knocked in on a Ryan Williamson hit. Penn Yan squandered any chance to add to the score in an inning as Colin Alexander squared up the baseball but lined out to third base.

The team scored two more runs in the bottom of the sixth as Eli Raplee and Tony Sciallo came home. Penn Yan left nine runners in scoring position for the game.

Penn Yan plays in the Naples Dueseberry Tournament this week as they face Addison at 6:30 Thursday, Wayland at 6:30 Friday, and Naples and Bath at 9 and 10:45 a.m. Saturday. This will wrap up their season.
