WATKINS GLEN - Chase Elliott had a dream weekend at Watkins Glen.

The defending race champion was fast off the truck, won the pole for the Go Bowling at The Glen, led the most laps, won every stage of the race and put his No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet in victory lane for the second straight year.

Elliott led 80 laps on the day and topped former Glen winners Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin. Erik Jones finished fourth, while Ryan Blaney rounded out the Top-5.

"This is the first time we've gone somewhere, sat on the pole, led the most laps and won the race," Elliott said. "I've never done that in my career."

Kyle Larson led six laps and Paul Menard led three laps of a very clean race - unless your name was Kyle Busch, who had multiple run-ins with a variety of drivers.

Prior to the start of the race, Watkins Glen International announced the event was a sellout.

“We’re excited to announce our fifth straight grandstand sell out,” said WGI President Michael Printup. “This is a true testament to the passion and dedication our fans have for Watkins Glen International and NASCAR.  We’re looking forward to delivering an incredible experience that keeps our fans coming back year after year.”
