Earle Richard Wade (Dick), 84, of Vestal, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017.

A private funeral mass will be offered at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Friendsville, Pa.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for N.Y. Telephone and then retired from AT&T to live on Keuka Lake for the next 27 years. He loved being behind the wheel of the boat with a cold beer or playing solitaire while overlooking the lake. He had a great love of sports, especially his favorite teams, the Miami Dolphins and the St. Louis Cardinals.

He was a loving husband, proud father, a generous, and wonderful Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will be greatly missed forever.

He was born in Freedom Plains, N.Y. Aug. 15, 1933, son of the late Earle F. Wade and Ruth (Dickson) Wade.

He is predeceased by his in-laws, William and Mary Lowery; his son, Mikie Wade; granddaughter, Caitlin Wade Bridge; sisters-in-law, Teresa Mallette, Alice Erway, Helen Campbell, and Doris Kiff. He is survived by the love of his life, Carolyn (Lowery) Wade; daughter, Maureen Wade Coghlan and husband, Dennis; son, Chris Wade and wife, Mary; daughter, Kim Wade Swan and husband. Scott. He was blessed with grandchildren, Matthew Bramlett and wife, Monique; Ryan Wade and wife, Denisse; Sarah Swan; Casey Swan and wife, Nicole; as well as great-grandchildren, Hope Gardner; Kaylee, Jordan, and Ethan Bramlett; and Ella, Mia, and Jacob Wade.

He is also survived by his sister, Ann Clark; brothers-in-law, Mike Lowery, Al Mallette, Harry Erway, and Carl Campbell; and sister-in-law, Marie Stricker; and many nieces and nephews.
