Grace was born in Penn Yan Jan. 8, 1934, the daughter of Arthur James Travis and Mary Agnes Knapp Travis. She attended Dundee Central School. For many years Grace was the co-owner of Wixson Honey Inc., working in the business office and at Wixson’s Honey Stand on Rt. 14 in Lakemont.

Grace loved music. She had a beautiful singing voice and could harmonize naturally. Grace sang with the Coyle Curran dance band, performing throughout the area. She was also a member of the Lakemont Congregational Christian Church choir for many years. Grace played piano by ear, and later in life she taught herself to play acoustic guitar. She enjoyed attending bluegrass music events and sitting in to pick and sing.

Grace had an inquisitive mind. She was very interested in genealogy and did extensive research into family ancestry. She was a Mayflower descendent, and in the past was an active member of both the Daughters of the American Colonists (DAC) and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Grace was also a historian, full of stories about both family and local history.

She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, and watching classic movies. She had a clever sense of humor and an optimistic outlook on life.

Grace was a selfless, loving, and giving human being who is loved and will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

Grace was predeceased by a son, Roscoe William Wixson on July 16, 1980.

She is survived by her children, Diane (Richard) Hubbard, Arthur Joseph Wixson, and Stacey (Marc) Weigert; her grandchildren, Jonathan (Jamie) Wixson, Samantha (Mike) Eaton, and Benjamin Wixson; her great-grandchildren Cory Anthony, Riley Eaton and Derek Wixson; her siblings, Evelyn Emmons, Alberta Lacy, Laverna Lashier, Janet Masterson, John Travis and Wanda Howell; her uncle Jamie Knapp, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
