Lane A. Clute, 69, of Naples, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018.

Lane was born in Naples July 10, 1949, the son of the late Angeline (Bartholomew) and James Clute.

A memorial mass for Lane will be held Friday, November 16, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Januarius Church, 180 N. Main St., Naples, N.Y. 14512. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lane’s memory may be made to Wilmot Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, N.Y. 14642 or St. Januarius Church, 180 N. Main St., Naples, N.Y. 14512.

Lane graduated from Naples High School Class of 1967. He earned his Associates Degree in agriculture from Morrisville College. He was a mechanic for Dansville Dodge and spent the remainder of working career as a farmer and NYS Maple Producer. He was a member of the NYS Maple Producers Association and the NYS Farm Bureau. Lane and his wife, Kebby had a booth at the Windmill in Penn Yan for 20 years. He served on the Town of Italy Town Board as well as serving as the Town Supervisor. Lane was also the maintenance supervisor for Camp Koinonia for 25 years.

His family wishes to extend a heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Trauma Center at Strong Memorial Hospital and the staff at the Homestead Nursing Facility in Penn Yan for the wonderful care Lane received.

Lane is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Kathleen (Kebby); child of their hearts, Heather (JT) Wilkins, sister-in-law, Pamela Clute; The Bradley Boys, sisters-in-law, Mercelle B. (Keith) Jackson and Mary E. (Christopher) Harrold; brothers-in-law, Richard W. Burnham, Robert C. (Rose) Burnham and Michael Burnham; dear friends, Terry Clark, Dennie Hufmann, Dave Brott, and David Schiek; cousins, Dorothy Medley, Jay Clute, Terry Clute, KC Clute, Eric Clute, and Donald Bartholomew.

In addition to his parents, Lane was predeceased by the paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents; brother, Dale J. Clute, and brother-in-law, James J. Burnham.
