Fort Myers, Fla. — Robert ("Bob") Lars Tyler, 76, passed away suddenly December 29, 2019 at his home in Fort Myers, Fla.
A celebration of life will be held in Jamaica Bay, Fla. Jan. 19, and a memorial service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. June 6 at the Wyoming County Vets Club, Warsaw. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wyoming Country Veterans Club, 245 Buffalo St, Warsaw, N.Y. 14569 or the Wyoming County SPCA, 808 Creek Rd, Attica, N.Y. 14711.
Bob was born January 19, 1943 in Warsaw, graduated from Wyoming Central School, and resided in Wyoming for many years.
Bob served in the United States Navy from 1964-1968 aboard the USS Galveston. He was later employed as an x-ray technician at the Wyoming County Community Hospital and Buffalo Children’s Hospital before spending many years and eventually retiring as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal service. Bob enjoyed his retirement on Keuka Lake, boating with friends and family, working at the Keuka Spring Winery, where he made many close friends, and traveling throughout the United States and abroad with his wife.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Lars and Doris Tyler, his son Andrew, and his brother-in-law, Ronald Grutzner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Mary Ann; children, Amy Lee (Douglas) Hanson of Brockport; and Thomas (Donna Alexander) Lee of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Kyle (Emily) Lee, Jacob Lee, and Margaret Hanson; a great-grandson, Henry James Lee; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty (Albert) Strathearn of Wyoming, Jean Grutzner of Warsaw, and Georgia (Bob) Martin of Warsaw; sister-in-law Jean (Murl) Mancuso of LeRoy, brother-in-law Gerald (Phyllis) Lang of Caledonia; cousins, Catherine (Chuck) Schwalenstocker Jr. of Livonia, Joan (Paul) Tresco of Leroy, and Mary (Ron Rennemo) Walker of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Bob was loved and will be greatly missed by all of his family, friends, and his constant companion, Mosie.
