Penn Yan — Beverly Joanne Faulkner-Pinckney passed away peacefully Saturday, January 25, 2020 with family members surrounding her at the Keuka Comfort Care.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Penn Yan Presybyterian Church at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 1. Honoring her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to the Keuka Comfort Care home.
Beverly was born June 30, 1942 in Elmira, but lived in Tioga, Pa. She moved to Penn Yan after attending and graduating from Keuka College. Later in life, Beverly found her true calling after her trip to Ireland in 1982 with her mother, Phyllis Faulkner. That experience was the “key and lock” for her love of Ireland. This was the time when she began painting again full-time and traveled back and forth to Ireland. She took the pictures and replicated a real-life view of the scenery of Ireland. She then began to travel to various Irish festivals all though the North and Southeast coast. Although she was completely self-taught, she received many awards and honors with her oil paintings. In her spare time, she enjoyed horticulture because of her experience and job with the New York State Experimental Station in Geneva.
She gave back to the community every Sunday for many years as being the designated “flower lady” and constructed almost every arrangement for the Presybterian church. Almost every flower arrangement came from the flowers at her own backyard. She was an avid reader as well and boasted that she had the best Irish library in Yates County.
She is survived by her three children: Eric Faulkner (wife, Siobhan), Meggan McCarthy (husband, Michael), and Marta Argyle (fiance, Matthew Cramer); brother, Rodney Faulkner (Wife, Leigh); and grandchildren, Galen Argyle, Mikayla Argyle, Logan Faulkner and Erin Blyzes;and qreat-grandchild Rķan Blyzes Mullins.
