Dundee — Cameron Blake “Cam” Sutherland Sr., 74, of Dundee went to join his Lord and Savior suddenly without saying goodbye Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
There were no calling hours. Due to the current restrictions a Celebration of His Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at Emmanuel Baptist Church; with a reception following at the Benton Fire Hall.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church, or the Emmanuel Baptist Academy, 332 Main St., Penn Yan.
Cam was born March 30, 1945 in Elmira, son of the late William G. and Hilda (Friese) Sutherland. He graduated from Bradford High School in 1963. On March 24, 1979 in Penn Yan he married the former April K. Decker. He was the CEO of Cam Sutherland & Sons Construction, of Dundee. He was an active and devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church; was a Board Member of Lamoka Baptist Camp; member of Barrington Rifle Club, and a dedicated volunteer and supporter of Keuka Comfort Care Home.
He is loved and will be forever missed by his wife of almost 41 years, April K. Sutherland at home; five children: Cameron B. Jr., Shane, Serenity, Trevor, and Ethan Sutherland; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six siblings, Jean Chrysler, Mark Sutherland, Billy Sutherland, Gail Sutherland, Paul Sutherland, and Scott Sutherland; numerous nieces, nephews; and countless friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Lynn Sutherland, and his daughter, Melissa Lynne Marie Sutherland.
