Ferguson Corners - Jack Tomion, age 92, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 9, 2021, with his family at his bedside.
A private burial will be made in Shuman Cemetery.
Jack was born June 26, 1928 in Penn Yan, NY. His parents were Merrill and Doris Scott Tomion. Jack graduated from Gorham High School
He married Marion Drew on Feb. 12, 1955.
Jack was a lifelong farmer. He owned and operated Tomion Farms in the Town of Benton, which was started by his grandfather. The Tomions grew potatoes and other crops, and had a pick-your own strawberry farm.
Jack was dedicated to both his farm and his family.
Jack was a member of the Two-Cylinder Club, and enjoyed their shows and events. He also had a collection of John Deere Two-Cylinder tractors. He and his wife, Marion, enjoyed many winter trips to Las Vegas and to Florida.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marion; 5 children, Alan (Crystal) Tomion, Bruce (Beth) Tomion, Janet Kozisky, Joan (Dale Lane) Tomion and Gail (Gary) Rindfleisch; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Lorraine Tomion and Mary Geo Tomion; and 9 nieces and nephews.
Jack was predeceased by his daughter, Jean Tomion Race; son, Carl Tomion; sister, Joyce Sauer; 2 brothers, Wesley Tomion and Ronald Tomion; and his parents.
