Dundee - Harold F. "Harry" Carlyon Jr., of Dundee, passed away on January 7th, 2021, at the age of 86. Harry was born on January 9th, 1934 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late Harold Sr. and Ruth (Perry) Carlyon.

After graduating from Creston High in Grand Rapids, Harry served in the US Navy on the battleship, USS Wisconsin, post Korean War time. He married Patricia A. Becker on April 14th, 1956 and entered Michigan State University after completing his tour of duty on the Wisconsin. Harry received a BS degree in Poultry and Agriculture from MSU and began a career managing commercial poultry farms that took he and Pat and their young family to Missouri, Michigan, Indiana and finally to Pat's home state, New York, putting down roots in Dundee. Now a father of four girls, he returned to college, night school, while managing Lakeland Farms in Dresden, NY and earned a certificate to teach Elementary education. In the Fall of 1969, Harry took his first teaching job as a fifth grade teacher in the Dundee Central School district, affectionately being called "Mr. C" by his students! He and Pat were founding members of The Windmill Farm and Craft Market, owning and operating their business, "Oh Fudge!", together until Pat passed away in 1992. Harry carried on the business for several more years, eventually retired from teaching and in 1994, he remarried, becoming the patriarch of a very large combined family.

Harry enjoyed music, played the guitar and sang in his church choir, he had a beautiful singing voice. He was a member of the Dundee Masonic Lodge, the VFW, the Dundee American Legion and volunteered at the local food pantry. He had a smile and a kind word for everyone he knew and so many he did not.

Harry was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Ruth Carlyon, a sister, Esther Carlyon White, a brother-in-law Don Burnett and his first wife of 36 years, Patricia Carlyon.

He is survived by a sister, Karen Carlyon Burnett, his second wife and her family and his living legacy of four daughters, Deirdre Carlyon Coriale, Lisa Carlyon, Briana Carlyon Wignall and Merritt Carlyon Sutterby, as well as eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren who lovingly dubbed him "Grandpa Chicken".
