Lois A. Malone
Lois A. Malone, 83, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021. She was born in Bath, NY, to the late Charles Stuart and Mary Gertrude (Krokowski) McKelvie.
Lois graduated from Ilion High School and met her husband Edward William Malone while attending business school in Utica, NY. The two married in 1959. After marrying and having children, Lois later returned to the workforce and became an Employment and Training Administrator, as part of New York State's Job Training and Partnership Act. In her position in Yates County, she helped displaced workers gain job skills and education assistance. After retirement, she and her husband supported many causes, including Churches in Action Food Pantry, Care Net of Penn Yan, and several other Christian ministries. Lois loved nature, the Adirondacks, and the beautiful area in which she lived. She was a passionate flower and vegetable gardener for many decades and an expert at jigsaw puzzles. She loved God her Savior and her family first and foremost.
Lois is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Edward (Bill), son Seth (Kirsta) of Union Springs, NY; daughter Beth (Shawn) Malone-Broome of Penn Yan, NY; and daughter Erin (Jason Vidas) of La Farge, WI; sister Ruth and niece Kristen Kendall of Bath, NY; nephew Daren, great-niece Angie, and great-nephew Dylan Kendall of Norman, OK; grandchildren Benjamen and Rachel Malone, Skylar and McKelvie Jensen, and Kelsey, Alyssa, Logan, and Benjamin Broome; and many cousins, family friends, and extended family members. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Fred Kendall.
An outdoor memorial service will be held at a later date and burial will be made in Bellona Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the non-profit Healing H'arts Equestrian Center, Inc. of Union Springs, NY, 13160.
