David Jayne

David Kenneth Jayne, 83 of Inverness Florida passed away on September 9, 2021 at Citrus Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late George Edgar and Esther May (Cole) Jayne on November 25, 1937 in Dundee, NY. Upon graduating from Dundee Central School in 1955, he joined the United States AirForce where he served as a Jet Engine Mechanic. After honorably serving in the military he continued to work as a Jet Engine Mechanic for PanAm and M&M Aircraft. Upon retirement he made Florida his home with his wife Cecelia.

In his younger years, he loved deer hunting with his father. David enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, cornhole and winning Dominoes. He loved NASCAR, working in his garden and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He will be remembered for being there for whomever needed him.

David is survived by his wife Cecelia, his children Cheryl (Alan) Salisbury, Lora Prior, Peggy (Shawn) Brace and David Jayne. His step-children Nancy Magrene, Margherita (Jerry) Bovee, Cecelia (Mark) Kidwell and Maria Pecoraro. He is also survived by his siblings Robert Jayne of Tennessee, Carolyn (Stewart) Merritt of Dundee and Velma (Monte) Silliman of Penn Yan as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

David was predeceased by both of his parents and his siblings Irving, Arlene, Audrey, Richard, Patricia and Eloise.

Calling hours will be held at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, Florida on September 19,2021 at 2:00 PM followed by Funeral Services at 3:00 PM.

A Celebration of Life for David Kenneth Jayne will be held at the Dundee American Legion Post #660, 10 Spring Street, Dundee, NY at 11:00 AM on October 3, 2021.
