Dundee Scots and Marcus Whitman Wildcats split doubleheader at Frontier Field
The Dundee Scots and Marcus Whitman Wildcat baseball teams are league foes in the Finger Lakes West. They normally exchange home games in Dundee and Gorham during the regular season schedule. This year's league showdowns had a pleasant change for the local teams. They squared off for a doubleheader at the home of the Rochester Red Wings, Frontier Field. It is always exciting when a high school ballplayer can play where the pro players perform. In Tuesday's action, the two teams split. Marcus Whitman won the opener 6-3 and Dundee captured the nightcap 9-0.

In game one, the Wildcats were led by Jacob Hill. He went 3-for-4 and drove in 2 runs and scored 2 runs of his own. Burlin Allen collected 2 hits in 3 tries, also scoring 2 runs. Peyton Miller was the winning pitcher for Marcus Whitman. Austin Thompson had a hit and scored a run for Dundee. Bobby Strait had an RBI double.

In game two, Dundee rounded with a 9-run outburst. The Scots shutout the Wildcats 9-0. Ryan Sprague was the winning pitcher for Dundee, spinning a 3-hitter and striking out 13. Sprague also helped himself with the bat collecting an RBI hit, Devin Jensen added 2 hit,s while Kyle Cratsley added a hit and scored 3 runs.
Dundee's season record now stands at 3-5. Marcus Whitman finished the day with a 2-10 record.
Penn Yan 2 Wayne 1
The Penn Yan Mustang baseball team traveled to Wayne to take on the Eagles in a Finger Lakes East match. The Mustangs entered the game with a 3 game losing streak and hoped to end the mini-skid. And end it they did. Penn Yan pushed 2 runs across early in the game and made them stick. They defeated Wayne 2-1 to improve their league mark to 7-3. They are 8-5 overall.
Noah Hullings, Peyton Schuck, Donny McMahon, and Reece Schuck provided the offense for the Mustangs rapping out hits. Donny McMahon was the winning pitcher, limiting the hometown Eagles to just 1 run and 5 hits. He struck out 7 Wayne batters.
