The Penn Yan Mustang, Marcus Whitman Wildcat, and Dundee Scots track and field teams competed in the Wayne/Finger Lakes Track and Field Championship Meet at Sodus High School Friday, May 20.

In the girl’s competition, Penn Yan’s Joddie Decker finished first in the 1500m and 2nd in the 3000m. The Mustang’s Emma Harling had a second place finish in the shot put. Marcus Whitman’s Hailey Rossi garnered third place finishes in the 800m dash and 2000m steeplechase. The Penn Yan girl’s team finished 9th overall with 30 team points. Marcus Whitman finished in 13th place with 21 points.

On the boy’s side, Penn Yan’s Ben DeMoras had a 2nd place finish in the 1600m and a 3rd place in the 3200m run. Whitman’s Liam Prendergast finished in 2nd place in the 300m steeplechase. Teammate Gabe Stash finished in 5th place. Also for the Wildcats, Jake Abel came in 5th place in the 400m hurdles. Dundee’s William Hall finished in 6th place in the 200m dash. The Whitman Wildcat boy’s team finished 11th overall with 24.5 points. Penn Yan garnered a 17th place finish with 15 points, while Dundee was right behind in 18th place with 14 points.
