Mustang harriers compete in North Rose/Wolcott meet

The Penn Yan Mustang track and field teams competed in a five-school meet held at North RoseWolcott High School May 2.

In the girl’s competition, the Orange and Blue team finished in 3rd place with 44 team points. Bloomfield/Honeoye came in first place with 105 points while HAC scored 86 points for 2nd place. South Seneca/Romulus 57 points and North rose Wolcott 40 finished in 4th and 5th place respectively. For Penn Yan, Joddie Decker won the 1500m and 3000m events. Emma Harling finished in first place in the shot put and discus events.

The Mustang boy’s team came in 5th place with 45 points. Bloomfield/Honeoye 99, North Rose/Wolcott 70, HAC 67, and South Seneca/Romulus, 66 rounded out the day’s competition. For the Mustangs, Ben DeMoras was a triple winner. He finished in first place in the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m events.

Dundee competes in Lyons Invitational

The Dundee Scots track and field teams competed in the Lyons Invitational May 2. The event featured teams from Pal-Mac, Clyde-Savannah, Geneva, Mynderse, Letchworth, Red Creek, Geneseo, Campbell/Savona, Trumansburg, Lyons, and Dundee.

For the Scotsmen boy’s team, William Hall finished in first place in the long jump. He also picked up a 3rd place finish in the 100m. Josh Cramer also finished in 3rd place in the 400m hurdles. Josh Kane grabbed a 3rd place finish in the triple jump. The Scot’s 4 x 100m relay team of Austin Brace, Preston Cratsley, Nic Laursen, and William Hall came in 2nd place.

In the girl’s competition, Dundee’s Lily Hall finished in 5th place in the high jump and 6th place in the triple jump.

Marcus Whitman competes in Seneca Falls meet

The Marcus Whitman Wildcat track and field teams competed in the Seneca Falls meet at Mynderse Academy May 2. In the boy’s competition Mynderse came in first place with 109 points followed by Wayne 89, Marcus Whitman 69, Sodus 55, and Red Jacket 37. For the Wildcats, Gabe Stash finished in first place in the 3200m event. Memphis Lohnes won the pole vault event.

In the girl’s competition, Wayne came in first place with 154 points followed by Red Jacket, 8; Marcus Whitman, 51; Mynderse, 42;and Sodus, 26. Whitman’s Grace Blankenberg won the discus event and Bailey Robinson came in first place in the shot put.
