The Penn Yan softball team faced a juggernaut April 3 as Mynderse came to town and went home with a convincing 22-2 win.
Penn Yan scored first, plating two runs in the first inning. Mynderse came back with three runs of their own in the third, and scored nine in the third, one in the sixth, and nine more in the seventh to secure the win.
For the Mustangs, Kayla Andersen had five strikeouts and five walks on the mound. Onalia Sheradin came on in relief and notched four strikeouts of her own.
On the offensive side, Taylor Hight smacked a triple and Kieana Larham had a double.
The team played Midlakes at home Monday, and plays Gananda at home Wednesday.
