The Penn Yan softball team lost to Geneva 15-2 and Mynderse 11-5 last week. Miscues in the field have been an issue for coach Melissa Armsden’s squad this season.

“We played well,” Armsden said of last week’s games. “Geneva and Mynderse are two tough teams, and we played with them for a long time. Errors are what get us caught up this season, but we are a young team still learning. Every game is a chance to learn and improve. We’re going to finish our season strong and head into sectionals ready for battle.”

This week is a busy one for the Mustangs. They play a double header at Pal-Mac May 15, are back home again May 16 versus Wayne, and play at Newark May 17.
