Penn Yan, Dundee, Marcus Whitman results

The Penn Yan Mustang bowlers remain unbeaten after shutting out Naples Dec. 5. Both of the Dundee teams took 4 points from Naples earlier in the week, but they fell to a pair of strong Newark teams Dec. 5.

The Penn Yan girls bowling team has a deep bench, giving Coach Mindy Johnson an opportunity to let several see some action during meets. When the Mustangs defeated Naples 5-0 Dec. 5, Andy Kniffin led the way with a 501 series (168, 161, 172). Brandee Ellis rolled a 429 series (150, 119, 160), and Anella Tillman added a 415 series which included the team’s high game of 174. She also rolled games of 117 and 124. The Mustangs racked up a total pin count of 2082 to Naples’ 1715.


Penn Yan Boys 5 Naples 0


Zach Gurba led the Penn Yan boys team with a 535 series (210, 169, 156). Cameron Bassage and John Mashewske each added a 501 series. Bassage’s included games of 176, 210, and 144 while Mashewske’s consisted of games of 170, 162, and 169. Connor Andersen added a 188 game and the team’s total pin count was 2613 to Naples’ 1899.


Newark Girls 5 Dundee 0


The Dundee girls fell to a strong Newark team Dec. 5 at Brock’s Bowl when Newark rolled a total of 2535 and Dundee rolled 1951. Kayla Andrews led the Scots with a 419 series (157, 125, 137) and Cassie Morrissette rolled a 403 series (119, 120, 164). Edele Morgan added a 384 series, which included a 164 game to tie with Morrissette for high game.

Stephen Smith led the Scots with a 514 series (131, 181, 202), and the high game of 202. Bryan Merrill rolled a 363 series (128, 129, 106). The Scots total pin count was 1913 compared to Newark’s 2764.


Dundee Girls 4 Naples 1


Kayla Andrews rolled a 482 three game series (210, 125, 147) to lead the Dundee girls team against visiting Naples in Finger Lakes West action Dec. 3 at Brock’s Bowl. Cassie Morrissette added a 405 series (134, 133, 138), and Claudya Lyons bowled a 346 trio (110, 124, 112). The Scots rolled a total pin count of 1,896 (673, 592, 631) to Naples’ 1697 (598, 620, 479).


Dundee Boys 4 Naples 1


Stephen Smith bowled a 536 series (174, 172, 190) in the Dundee boys’ victory. Aaron Bruzda added a 398 (147, 110, 141), and Austin States rolled a 391 series (143, 121, 136).


M. W. Girls 4 Wayne 1


The Whitman girls won by a pin count of 2,159 to 2,108 at Roseland Bowl. Zoelle Payne bowled a 475 series and Kennedy Smith bowled a 462 for Whitman and Kendall Davis had the high game of 190.


Wayne Boys 4 Marcus Whitman 1


Wayne won by a pin count of 2,798 to 2,745 at Roseland Bowl.


Dom Mangiarelli bowled a 237 game in his 696 series for Whitman and Nick Lloyd bowled a 566 series.
