Recyling Day is Friday at Yates Chamber

The Yates Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual recycling day from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Friday, June 10 at the Chamber office on Route 14A south of Penn Yan.

This is your chance to get rid of a variety of items that can’t easily be disposed of through your trash hauler.

Staff will  be cooking up hotdogs and hamburgers in the parking lot.

The following items will be accepted free of charge: Appliances, bicycles, push mowers, lawn tractors, scrap metal, above ground pools, water heaters, boilers/furnaces, gas grills, metal fencing, electrical wiring, metal plumbing fixtures and fittings, car parts (starters, alternators, brake rotors/drums, radiators, batteries), car frames, car tires, car and marine batteries, engine blocks, agricultural equipment, car tires on rims, computers, TVs and all electronic equipment.

DETAILS Many items will be accepted at no charge. There are fees to recycle some items, and pick up can be arranged.



The following items will be accepted for the charge noted: refrigerators and freezers $25, dehumidifiers $15, air conditioners $10, car tires $4 to $6, tractor tires $25-30, florescent bulbs $.50/foot, compact florescent bulbs $4 to $6.
