Main Street’s sweets in time for Easter treats

Stacey and Becky Ingerick and their children, Jonathan and Kayla, invite everyone to The Keuka Candy Emporium to find their favorite treat from childhood, and discover some new ones. There are also cookies, cakes, fudge, Hershey’s ice cream, coffees, and sodas to try.

Following a “top secret” undercover makeover at 17 Main St. in Penn Yan, The Keuka Candy Emporium threw wide its doors to indulge the sweet tastes and even sweeter childhood memories of its customers, and its owners, too,  just in time to fill Easter baskets.

Stacey Ingerick and his wife, Becky, have many sweet memories of discovering some new candy when they were children, some new unexpected flavor or texture, and wanted the children (and adults) of Penn Yan to have that opportunity again.

Many of the bins of candies are filled to overflowing with names long forgotten – Zagnut, Mary-Janes, Tootsie Rolls, Charleston Chews – but there are even older favorites: sassafras and root beer candies, saltwater taffy, bullseyes, and licorice whips. Add to these some regional candies never seen before in Penn Yan, like Goo Goo Clusters and Idaho Spuds.

Stacey has brought back The Pop Shoppe sodas he remembers buying as a boy from the Beverage Baron in big divided wooden cases. They also offer over 20 flavors of Hershey’s Ice Cream. “They are the creamiest and use all natural flavors, and most of them are gluten free,” says Stacey.

Customers can enjoy a freshly brewed Eight O’ Clock Coffee, known worldwide as a top “best coffee” award winner. There are flavored coffees too, and Keurig K-Cup packs.

There is a homemade fudge case, filled by artisan fudge makers, Oh Fudge! And who can resist freshly popped kettle corn on a movie night at home. Cotton Candy, made in store daily, will soon include Schiek’s 100 percent pure Maple Cotton Candy.

Wedding Cakes, by Jen-Sophie Cake design, pairs well with a Candy Buffet service to make a new and fun idea for wedding arrangements. The baking continues with a cookie dispensery with novelty iced cookies in all flavors and styles, freshly decorated by Jen-Sophie cake design.

Nut lovers aren’t forgotten with roasted cinnamon almonds, vanilla almonds, buffalo-style cashews, honey salt cashews, and peanut brittle.

Visit the Keuka Candy Emporium Monday – Thursday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. , Friday – Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. , and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. See their website at and look for them on Facebook.
