The 10th anniversary of the Keuka Arts Festival kicks off with a striking promotional poster featuring the artwork of one of the region’s best known artists. The focal point of the poster for the two day event in June is a watercolor depiction of a Great Blue Heron at lake’s edge, painted by popular watercolor artist Bonnie Barney.

Unlike previous years, when the Arts Festival’s board of directors held a contest for poster images or chose work done by an exhibitor, this year’s poster design was a specific commission.

“The Board asked Bonnie to paint a heron for this year’s poster,” says Arts Festival Chairman Chris Vaughan. “Herons are lovely, graceful and are often seen on and around Keuka Lake.” Those qualities go hand in hand with the work artists bring to the annual Festival, held in Penn Yan’s Outlet Park.

The 2017 Arts Festival will be held June 10 and 11 along the Keuka Lake Outlet. Work from more than 100 artists creating in a wide variety of artistic mediums will be for sale at the two day event, which will also include entertainment and food vendors. Admission to the festival is free. Anyone interested in volunteering to help with the event can call Terri Sutherland at 585-750-6054
