The opening reception for the Third Annual Juried Art Show will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. June 9 at the Arts Center of Yates County, 127 Main St., Penn Yan

On display will be the accepted entries from the ACYC Third Annual Painting & Photography Juried Exhibition. Earlier in the week the art will be delivered, hung in the gallery, and judged for awards. The exhibition judge is Bradley Butler. Mr. Butler has been making and exhibiting his work since 2006 and has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in Upstate/ Western New York, Brooklyn, Georgetown, Ky; and Portland, Ore.

Butler received an M.F.A. from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2010 and his work has been featured in Studio Visit Magazine (Open Studios Press). In addition to making art, Butler also holds the position of gallery director at Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs, a gallery showing contemporary art and fine craft.

Awards have been made possible by the generosity of local/regional residents, businesses, and arts organizations and will be announced at the reception. A Popular Vote Award will be given to the artist for the artwork receiving the most votes during the run of the exhibit, June 10–July 5. The visiting public will have an opportunity to fill out a ballot during this show. Everyone is encouraged to vote for their favorite work.

The Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony at Flick Gallery is free and open to the public. Refreshments are complimentary and made available through the ACYC volunteer force. Wine and non-alcoholic punch will also be served.
