Looking for something special to put in a small space at home, in your cottage, or as a gift for someone special? Look no further than the Arts Center of Yates County’s Art Madness sale, opening from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 7

The show features work from dozens of regional painters, photographers and crafters (as well as a few “community celebrities”) who generously support the Arts Center by donating small works to this bi-annual fundraising event. With over 100 pieces of art to choose from at $50 each, it’s first come, first served at the opening. Friday’s sale kick-off will also feature “Ray’s Recommendations” – a free tasting of good wines at great prices available at Water Street Wines and Spirits, selected and poured by Ray Spencer. Enjoy homemade hors d’oeuvres provided by gallery volunteers while making your art selections.

In addition, during the reception, bid on an original oil landscape painted at the Borglum Iris Gardens by award-winning artist George Van Hook. Bidding on that piece will end at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the event will be used to support the Arts Center’s wide variety of community programs and exhibits.

The Art Madness exhibit opening will be held from 5-7 p.m July 7 at the Arts Center, 127 Main St., Penn Yan.Donated pieces will be available through July 22, although there is no guarantee as to the number of pieces available after the opening and throughout the show, so join us at Friday’s reception for the best selection at an unbeatable price.
