Keuka Lake Music Festival sets remaining concerts
After a sold-out opening gala at the Lakeside Country Club, the Keuka Lake Music Festival continues with four concerts at Keuka College’s Norton Chapel, starting Thursday, Aug. 10, when Ivan Zenaty will perform a recital of works by composers from all different nationalities (Czech, French, Spanish, Norwegian, and Russian). Zenaty was the teacher of Keuka Lake Music Festival Artistic Director Dylan Kennedy for four years at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. with a 7 p.m. pre-concert chat. Dylan Kennedy will lead discussions with the guest artists. General admission tickets ($20) are available at Long’s Cards and Books, online at www.keukamusic.org, and at the door.
Children and students are admitted free.
Aug. 17: Featuring Brannon Cho, prize winner of the first ever Queen Elisabeth International Cello Competition. Dylan Kennedy will perform with Brannon Cho and three other ‘rising star’ musicians
Aug. 19: Steinway Artist Sandra Shapiro will perform a solo piano recital. She has performed as soloist with most major orchestras across the country
Aug. 20: The Summer Finale concert features ‘rising star’ artists performing in various combinations, as well as with Sandra Shapiro. Kennedy will perform in each piece on the program.
