On Saturday, Dec. 3, Ginger and Dick Howell, owners of Seasonal Kitchen Cooking School in Pittsford, and their daughter, Holly Howell, a wine columnist and sommelier, will be at Hunt Country Vineyards in Branchport for the release and signing of their new cookbook, “Finger Lakes Wines and Seasonal Cuisine.”

The event will take place from noon until 3 p.m.  The Howells, who have conducted classes at Seasonal Kitchen for 32 years, have collected their favorite recipes and paired them with Finger Lakes wines.  Hunt Country Vineyards Ruby Port is paired with a Warm Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce.  Samples of the cake and several other food and wine parings from the book will be available during the book signing. Wine tasting and food samples are free.  There will be grape juice and cookies for the children.

The book signing is part of the annual “Christmas in Branchport” event on December 3rd.  Everyone is encouraged to shop locally and support local businesses and community organizations.  Other participants in the event include the Modeste Bedient Memorial Library, Crooked Lake Mercantile, The Finger Lakes Museum, The House of Leather, Branchport United Methodist and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Branchport Hardware, Cub Scout Pack 44, Branchport Farmers Market and Nordic Farms.

The event runs from 10 am until 5pm.  Come and meet your friends and neighbors for a traditional small town Christmas!  For a complete listing of sales and events at each venue, see: www.HuntWines.com and click on the Events bar on the top menu
