Winter festival set for Saturday

Join The Finger Lakes Museum at Camp Good Days in Branchport for its second annual Brrranchport Winterfest  Saturday, Feb. 22 from noon to 5 p.m.  This event is free to the public, and all are welcome to attend.

Sponsored by Camp Good Days and the Museum, Brrranchport Winterfest 2014 will be an afternoon filled with fun indoor and outdoor activities, a presentation by the Wildlife Defenders, local foods for purchase, wine and beer tastings, educational demonstrations, and much more.

Additional activities will include: a maple syrup cotton candy demonstration, animal tracking for adults and children, face-painting, live music, and story time with the Museum’s eagle mascot, Soren. Speak with Museum volunteers and staff throughout the day to learn more about the progress at the Discovery Campus, along with current and future programming.  

A Bison Burgundy dinner will follow Brrranchport Winterfest at 5:30 p.m. also held at the Camp Good Days facility.  Tickets are  $20 per person, with $10 of each ticket sale going toward completing construction at the Museum’s Discovery Campus. Catered by Around the Corner Catering, the Bison Burgundy dinner also includes: herbed noodles, crispy steamed broccoli and carrots, mixed greens salad with maple balsamic vinaigrette, crispy baguette and butter, coffee, and dessert.  Tickets are available on the Museum’s website at or by calling 315-595-6128.

Museum volunteer and Winterfest chair Carol Robeson stated, “The Finger Lakes Museum is excited to host this 2nd annual Brrranchport Winterfest!  We are thankful to Camp Good Days for their willingness to open their site to us this year. This event is a wonderful way to bring the Finger Lakes community together to share in some winter food and fun, and to update everyone on the progress of the Museum and its Discovery Campus.  We hope you will join us!”
