Williams and Brongo wed in Bluff Point vineyard ceremony
Dorothy Williams, widow of Rev. Gordon M. Williams formerly pastor of the Penn Yan United Methodist church, announces the wedding of her daughter, Margaret Ruth Brenan Williams, to David Anthony Brongo on Aug. 22. The ceremony and the reception tookplace at the family’s Scott Road vineyard home.
The Reverend R. David Oertel, friend of the bride’s father performed the ceremony. John Williams of Denver, brother of the bride, escorted her through the gardens and across the lawn while her brother, James Williams, of Buckhannon, W. Va., piped a festive processional on his bagpipe. Bridesmaids were Laura Weiss of Ithaca, Mary Soper McBryan, of Glasgow, Scotland, and Sarah Molinari Holt, of Franklin, Tenn.
Attendants for the groom were his children, David Brongo Jr, of Lauderdale by the Sea, Fla., Robbin Carll, of Wayland, and Erin Coughlin, of Geneseo. The bride’s nieces, Madeleine and Emily Williams, and her nephew, Andrew Williams, completed the wedding party. Sister-in-law, Kelly Williams created all the bridal bouquets and table flower arrangements.
During the reception friends further experienced the ambiance of the beautiful Finger Lakes country: writing greetings to the couple on pages of Finger Lakes Panoramas by Kristian Reynolds ,which was used as a guestbook; finding places with name cards made from wine corks; dining at tables decorated with scenic photos of each Finger lake accompanied by cards explaining why each lake was special to the couple; enjoying MacGregor wines and locally brewed beers; dancing under the white wedding tent as the sunset over the vines. After the D.J. packed up to leave, many guests lingered around a bonfire in the yard and enjoyed the sparkling stars in the dark Keuka night sky.
The couple honeymooned in the Napa Valley wine country and Lake Tahoe. The groom is a teacher at Livonia Junior High School and the bride teaches at Churchville Chili Senior High School. They reside in Geneseo.
