Chamber musicians present Music at the Castle Feb. 13

Back by popular demand, musicians from the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and artistic director Richard Auldon Clark will join to play for the eighth annual Music at the Castle — A Valentine’s Sunday Brunch and Concert,  to take place at Belhurst (formerly Belhurst Castle), 4069 Route 14 South,  Geneva, NY 14456 on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011.

The program entitled “A Mid-Winter Holiday‚“ includes “Concerto Grosso in g minor,” by Arcangelo Corelli, excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite,” film music of Henry Mancini and Vincent Guaraldi (of “Peanuts” fame),  jazz of Duke Ellington, as well as the music of Aaron Copland,  Leroy Anderson,  Giaccomo Puccini, Claude Debussy, Paul Desmond, and Edward MacDowell (“To a Wild Rose”).

A sell-out in previous seasons, Music at the Castle, combines a sumptuous brunch, glorious music, an auction, and a delectable dessert buffet.  Sponsored by the Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival, this event helps support community outreach, the 2011 FLCMF summer concert season, and free performances for youth.
