Event of the Day: Seneca Lake Watershed’s Health

The Geneva League of Women Voters and Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association is sponsoring a public forum on leachate and the health of Seneca Lake watershed from 7 to 9 p.m. May 19 in the Finger Lakes Institute classroom.

Hobart and William Smith Professor Dr. John Halfman will present an overview of the health of Seneca Lake as other speakers will discuss current landfill and water treatment policies. Hobart and William Smith Colleges Assistant Prof. Dr. Darrin McGee will moderate a question and answer session with representatives from the landfill industry, water treatment industry, and state government and the audience.

The program will end with each presenter giving their ideas/opinions on ways to preserve the quality of water in Seneca Lake.
