Justin and Verity Kamholtz Merrick

Verity Kamholtz and Justin Merrick were married in a ceremony on June 4, 2011 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Penn Yan.

The ceremony was officiated by James Knapton, uncle of the bride, of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Verity is the daughter of Kenneth and Cindy Kamholtz of Penn Yan.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology at Liberty University and is a fitness specialist.

Justin is the son of Teresa Merrick of Chicago, Ill. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Liberty University, where he is now employed in the online admissions department.

The Maid of Honor was Karen Folts, friend of the bride, of Penn Yan.

Bridesmaids were Bailey Knapton, cousin of the bride, of Canan-daigua; Nichole Thomas, sister of the groom, of Chicago, Ill.; Kristen Overby, friend of the bride, of Lynchburg, Va.; Kaitlyn Sproles, friend of the bride, of Smithfield, N.C. and Cassandra Beer, friend of the bride, of Poughkeepsie.

The Best Man was D. Wayne Lawrence, friend of the groom, of Millersburg, Pa. Groomsmen were Jeremy Murphy, brother of the groom, of Chicago; Ethan Kamholtz, brother of the bride, of Penn Yan; Matthew Schaub, friend of the groom, of Georgia; Joran Broughton, friend of the groom, of Grove City, Ohio and Eddie Harris, cousin of the groom, of Chicago.

A reception for 150 guests at the Benton Fire Hall followed the ceremony.

Following a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple is at home in Forest, Va.
