Pig roast to benefit adaptive sports program for veterans
The Yates County Chapter of SCOPE and the American Legion Riders Post #355 are holding a Pig Roast Fundraiser to benefit OASIS Adaptive Sports on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the American Legion Post.
Outdoor Adventures for Sacrifice in Service (OASIS) is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization with a mission to assist disabled veterans to reconnect and resume productive lives in society. Its goal is to help disabled veterans regain their physical and mental health through meaningful participation in outdoor recreational activities
These recreational experiences help support the veteran’s physical and emotional health.
This organization currently offers skiing at Bristol Mountain, archery at Heritage sports in Phelps and sailing.
In the future, OASIS hopes to include Nordic skiing, fly fishing, cycling, firearms, kayaking/canoeing, golf, waterskiing, snowboarding and more.
Representatives of OASIS will be present at the dinner to answer questions. Dinner tickets are advance sale only and limited to 300. A 50/50 raffle which you do not have to be present to support will be held.
OASIS is headquartered in Honeoye.
