Darrin Race

Las Vegas Magician and Penn Yan native Darrin Race returns to his hometown at 1 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Penn Yan Public Library to amaze and astound audiences of all ages.

Come watch this family friendly show and learn the history of magic and magicians.

Learn about Houdini, Blackstone, Thurston, Lance Burton, David Copperfield and more.

Race's live magic performance includes mystery, fun, and audience participation. After the show, he will teach participants how to do some easy-to-learn magic tricks that they can fool their family and friends with.

Darrin Race has been a performing magician for nearly 35 years. In 1979, after seeing Magician Bob Reams perform at a local shopping mall in Columbia, S.C. and the purchase of a used Marshall Brodien T.V. magic set at a yard sale, Darrin was bitten by the magic bug.

Since that early beginning he has performed from shopping mall promotions to stages of Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe, and many venues in between. Race has also worked with many celebrities such as Kurt Russell, David Copperfeild, Lance Burton, Roy Clark, Engelbert Humperdinck and Emilio Estevez.
