Summer Concert Series begins June 25 with Murphy's Law
The Yates County Summer Concerts on the Courthouse Lawn Series is pleased to open the 2014 Season Wednesday June 25 by welcoming back one of last year’s favorite performers, Murphy’s Law.
Feel free to move and groove while enjoying classic rock music from the late 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. This show will be an energetic way to kick off our summer as a community!
Most of the band’s members have played in the Penn Yan area over the last 35 years. The popularity of this local band plus the beautiful setting of the Yates County Courthouse Lawn makes attending this free show an easy decision. At intermission you will find the Literacy Volunteers providing refreshments for sale. Concert organizers welcome you to join us at 6:30 p. m. “Put a little pep in your step while listening to the spirited music of Murphy’s Law,” says Inga Hoffman, spokesperson.
Rebecca Colleen and the Chore Lads
The second concert of the season — on July 2 — will feature Rebecca Colleen and the Chore Lads.
The Yates County Concert Series continues to offer free concerts this summer by casting another local favorite as the second performer of the eight concerts in the Concerts on the Courthouse Lawn series, Rebecca Colleen and the Chore Lads, at the Yates County Courthouse Lawn.
At the concert you will hear acoustic string music in the bluegrass, folk, and gospel genres. This excellent and accomplished group has been described as rich and compelling. That’s no surprise to those who have heard the group’s three part harmonies along with Rebecca’s soothing voice. Learn more about this group online at http://www.Rebecca colleen.com.
You’ll find the Penn Yan United Methodist Church offering refreshments for sale at the event. Don’t miss this chance Wednesday evening at 6:30 to come and kick off the upcoming holiday with a chance to sooth your soul with some amazing free music.
