The Yates Concert Series will hold the season finale of the 2014 Concerts on the Courthouse Lawn summer concert series Wednesday, Aug. 13 starting at 6:30 p.m.

This summer’s live performances are wrapping up with a popular favorite, Bourbon Street Parade.

Get ready to hear lively swing music that will get your toes tapping and your fingers snapping. The Bourbon Street Parade will perform a balance of pieces from show tunes, church hymnals, and New Orleans jazz. Most of the members of the group would agree that playing and listening to this wonderful music is a prescription for a long life.

So, with that in mind, please join the group for this free concert and come together as a community once more this summer to celebrate summer together.

Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket to sit and enjoy the music on the courthouse lawn. At intermission, the local Kiwanis Club will provide refreshments for sale. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the adjoining Baptist church.

The Yates Concert Series committee is grateful to all the sponsors who made these concerts possible and to the students at Penn Yan Elementary for their wonderful contributions to “Pep Up the Park” for the concerts.

“We hope you and your families can join us one last time this summer to “‘listen with your heart.’” says Inga Hoffman, one of the committee members.
