NFA Five Lakes Hawks host Auburn Sept. 24 in Penn Yan

The Five Lakes Hawks of the Northeastern Football Alliance will host the Auburn Commanders in a play-off game at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 on the turf at Penn Yan Academy.

The winner of the game will be the East Conference Champion, set tp lay the West Conference Champion for the League title.

The Hawks, in third place in the East Division with a record of 8-3 in the league and 9-3 overall, have played Auburn twice this season, falling 14-8 June 25 and winning 30-20 Aug. 6.

The Auburn Commanders record is 4-5, and they are in fourth place in the division.

The Hawks roster includes Brandon Brace, Jon Huber, Aksel Jensen, Michael Raplee, Steve Carruthers, Uriah Dean, Jim Dillon, and Nicholas Dillon, all from the Yates County area.

The Penn Yan Varsity Cheerleaders will operate the concession stand during Saturday’s game. 

The Northeastern Football Alliance is an amateur-semiprofessional American football league based mostly in upstate New York. It was formerly known as the New York Amateur Football League, which split off from the Mid Continental Football League in the mid-1990s after the MCFL contracted into the midwest. The NFA traditionally plays its games during the summer months.
