Churches list special holiday services
The final service to be held in the Dundee Presbyterian Church will be the Dundee Christmas Eve Candlelight Service with special music.
Other Christmas season services are listed below. Check other local churches for their plans.
Dundee Presbyterian
The Dundee Presbyterian Church invites all to the last Christmas Eve Candlelight Service to be hosted by the congregation. The 7 p.m. service will include a visit by St. Nick, Communion, candlelight service, music offered by the congregation’s last musician, Anthony Zeno, and organ music played by Alice Shoemaker. All are welcome.
St. John’s Lutheran, Potter
Christmas Eve candlelight services will be held Dec. 24 at 5 p.m., and at Zion Lutheran in Geneva at 7:30 p.m.
Branchport Methodist
Regular Sunday morning service that day at 10:45 a.m. Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to join us!
Dresden Methodist
Our Candlelight Christmas Eve Service will be held at 9 p.m. There will be no morning church service Dec. 24.
Penn Yan Methodist
• A Christmas service Saturday, Dec. 23 at 5 p.m. with the OutCross band in Fellowship Hall.
• Dec. 24 at 10 a.m., we celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Advent with the congregation from First Baptist Church in our sanctuary.
• Christmas Eve services at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary with the Praise Band and a nativity play with audience participation.
• At 9 p.m., the Sanctuary Choir, Gabriel’s Bunch, and the Memorial Rings lead a traditional service of Lessons and Carols.
• At 11 p.m., we welcome Christ as Christmas Day arrives with the singing of carols and telling of stories.
Hall Congregational
Christmas Eve at Union Congregational UCC in Hall will be held at 7 p.m. Special music will be offered. A meal will be provided afterward.
Penn Yan Presbyterian
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. The Christmas story will be read and Christmas hymns and carols will be sung by the choir and the congregation.
St. Luke’s Episcopal, Branchport
Sunday morning service will take place at 9:30 a.m. in addition to Christmas Eve Service at 7 p.m.
St. Paul’s Lutheran, Penn Yan
We will worship at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24 and celebrate Fourth Advent. There will be one Christmas Eve Service at 8 p.m.
Penn Yan Baptist
• We have a joint Christmas Eve morning service at the Penn Yan United Methodist Church at 10 a.m.
• Christmas Eve at 7 p.m. is our traditional Candlelight Service. Join us as we circle the sanctuary with our candles, singing “Silent Night.”
Friend Methodist
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 8:30 p.m. Our children will be an important part of the worship.
Yatesville Church
Dec. 24, we will hold our usual Sunday morning service at 9 a.m. and our traditional Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m.
Middlesex Methodist
Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22. Cookies and punch will be served after the service.
St. Mark’s Episcopal, Penn Yan
We welcome all to any of our Christmas services:
• The Fourth Sunday of Advent will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Dec. 24.
• Family Celebration Christmas Eucharist – 4 p.m. Dec. 24
• Festival Celebration of Christmas Eucharist – 10 p.m. Dec. 24
• Christmas Day Service, a quiet Eucharist - 10 a.m. Dec. 25.
Bluff Point Methodist
Christmas Eve, we will have our usual Sunday service at 9 a.m., and also our family candlelight service at 7 p.m. Please join us at one or both services
Second Milo Baptist
11 a.m. worship service Dec. 24, and an evening candlelight service is held at the Reading Community Church at 5 p.m., following a light supper at 4 p.m.
