The Yates County Progressives will host a Meet the Candidates Night on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Milly’s Pantry, 19 Main Street, Penn Yan, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

To date, the following candidates have accepted the Progressives’ invitation to attend: Ed Brockman, District Attorney candidate; and County Legislature candidates Donna Alexander, Deb Flood, Taylor Fitch, Mark Morris, Tim Dennis, Joseph Gibson, Mary St. George, Dennis Race, Richard Willson and Steve D’Amico.  Jerusalem Town Council candidate Tom Close, who is Chair of the Yates Progressives, will also be present.

Each candidate will say a few words about their candidacy, and then we will move to a social hour during which attendees will be able to talk with them individually and in small groups.

The Yates Progressives are an informal group, not affiliated with any political party, who seek to inform ourselves and the community about local and national issues, to foster understanding among the diverse elements of our community, and to promote  progressive solutions to problems by meeting regularly to discuss issues and periodically sponsoring informational public speakers and events.  Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings and functions.

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

For further information, please call Ray Copson, Chair of the Progressives Speakers Committee, at 315 536-6891.
