Call it the storm that never delivered — to the Finger Lakes at least.
The prediction of a heavy hit finally zeroing in on the area fizzled overnight and the National Weather Service is saying the winter storm warning that was previously in effect until 5 p.m. today concludes at noon instead.
The service says there is still a reason to be on the lookout for 4 to 8 inches of snow and sleet followed by winds of 5 to 10 mph turning to the northwest this afternoon at 10 to 15 mph.
The combination could still cause travel issues.
