Mardi Gras event will benefit Keuka Comfort Care Home
The Keuka Comfort Care Home is hosting a Mardi Gras dinner dance at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge, #2030, March 5 from 6 - 11 p.m. An evening of fun, good food, dancing and auctions will be just the ticket to get you out of the winter time blues. Local favorite, Agonal Rhythm, will be playing your favorite dance tunes. Costumes and beads are welcome.
The highlight of the evening is of course the live and silent auctions. Items that will be featuring include: a Giants football helmet courtesy Giants #1 fan, Jack Payne, a lovely queen sized quilt from Naomi Lapp, a relaxing lake house rental offered by Carol Worth, a fabulous spa gift basket from Polishing Touches, always a favorite, a Vera Bradley purse donated by the Nest Egg, a Tour of the Finger Lakes Wine Tasting from Lake Street Wine and Spirits, a tea party by the Tea Lady, Linda Doty, a Linda Lefko Painting, and a host of other donations.
A Basket Raffle will be new this year and the committee is having a lot of fun putting them together, says Maureen Wise, one of the organizers. There will be five or six themed baskets chock full of items that will be raffled. She says the Lottery Basket has drawn a bit of a buzz as has the Car Care Package, The Route 54A Corridor Basket and The Coffee Lovers Basket. Tammy's Hairstyles has offered to donate a wonderful Spa Basket which will be any woman's dream day at the salon.
Donations are still being accepted and would welcome something you would like to include in our auction. All proceeds will go to the Keuka Comfort Care Home, a two bedroom palliative care home caring for the terminally ill and their families in our community and beyond.
Tickets for the evening are $25/person. so mark your calendars for March 5. They sold out last year. Dinner choices are Prime Rib or Stuffed Chicken and include dessert. Tickets are on sale at Pinckney Hardware, Long's Cards and Books, The Nest Egg, Polishing Touches, and the Penn Yan Moose Lodge, #2030.
