Cruisin' Night in Penn Yan is one of the area's popular events in the summer. This year's street festival will be held June 17.

It's that time of year, when, as much as we like to think about the "Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer" our calendars fill up with events and activities.

Here are some of the events going on this weekend:

Keuka Comfort Care Garage Sale

This annual fund-raising event, held at the Yates County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Friday June 3 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday June 4.

Third Annual Hunt Country Dog Walk

Back for the third year - the Annual Hunt Country Dog Walk, a benefit for the Humane Society of Yates County, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 4.

Registration for the event is $10/dog and entitles the dog (and their human!) to unlimited walking time on our beautiful trails through the vineyards and woods and a complimentary standard wine tasting or grape juice for those under 21.  Hunt Country Vineyards, 4021 Italy Hill Road, Branchport

Child Safety Fair

The Child Safety Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 4 at the Penn Yan Elementary School.

Gorham Pageant of Bands

Musicians from nearly 20 different school districts will converge on Gorham this weekend for the 50th annual Pageant of Bands. Some events are held Friday. The Concert Band Competition begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and the parade is expected to step off at 2:15 p.m.

Finger Lakes Museum’s  inaugural program

The Finger Lakes Museum invites you to join them for Part I, From the Brink of Extinction: The Bald Eagles of Hemlock and Canadice Lakes, of their Inaugural Progam series, Back from the Brink. This first part will be taking place on Saturday, June 4 at the Rochester Museum & Science Center's Eisenhart Auditorium from 2 to  4 p.m.  For details visit www.fingerlakesmuseum.org.

Keuka Lake Triathlon

Hundreds of athletes will swarm over the Keuka College Campus Sunday as they compete in the Keuka Lake Triathlon. The event is a  blur of activity beginning at 5:15 a.m. For details, visit www.keukalaketri.com
