In honor of America’s veterans, The Collings Foundation’s Wings of Freedom Tour of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, Consolidated B-24 Liberator and P-51 Mustang comes to Penn Yan at the Yates County Airport on display at Seneca Flight Operations from Monday, Aug. 13 through Wednesday, Aug. 15. All three are restored to exacting 1944 condition, they fly to over 120 cites nationwide for display and to offer flights for people interested in reliving history through a hands-on experience.

Walk Through Tour Times: (no reservations needed)

Aug. 13  2 to 5 p.m.

Aug. 14  9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Aug. 15  9 a.m. to noon

Flight Experiences take place before and after tours. Call 978-562-9182 for flight reservations. Flight Experiences Donations are $425 per person aboard the B-17 or B-24.

The B-25 is available at select locations for flight experiences. Flight experiences on the B-25 are $400 for forward fuselage seats, and $325 for waist gun seats

Flight training in the TP-51C "Betty Jane" will be at most locations on the Wings of Freedom Tour. Flight training in the P-51 is $2200 for a half hour flight, and $3200 for a full hour. All participants will get the chance to feel what it was like to fly one of the most legendary fighters of WWII.

Walk through tours of the aircraft are $12 for adults, and $6 for children 12 and under for access to all of the aircraft. WWII Veterans get into the ground tours at no charge.

On Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. Glenora Wine Cellars and Seneca Shore Wine Cellars will conduct a wine tasting as part of the event. Tasting fee is $5 per person and includes a souvenir wine glass. All proceeds will be used to support complimentary trips for WWII veterans.
