Keuka Area Fund at the Community Foundation announces 2012 grant awards
The Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc. through its Keuka Area Fund has awarded $20,200 to eight non-profit organizations. The organizations receiving grants work directly with local communities in the fields of the arts, education, human services, environment and youth. Funded programs serve the citizens of Steuben County including the towns of Bradford, Prattsburgh, Pulteney, Urbana, Wayne, Wheeler and Yates County.
The largest grant — $4,500 — is being given to Our Town Rocks: Barrington/Starkey/Dundee Health Initiatives.
The Keuka Area Fund at the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes provides a vehicle for individuals, families, and businesses to invest in the residents of the communities surrounding Keuka Lake and to protect the physical environment of the region. The fund is permanently endowed at more than $250,000. Since its inception in 2007, the fund has made over $84,000 in grant awards.
