Yates County Highway Superintendent David Hartman announces the two-week closure of County House Road between County House Woods Road and Sutton Road beginning Monday, Aug. 12.

Hartman says county highway workers will begin work on the intersection of County House Road and County House Woods Road.

He says the work includes excavating and cutting down a section of road that creates a blind intersection for westbound motorists as they approach County House Woods Road. This raised section of road also causes a blind spot for motorists trying to turn left off County House Woods Road onto County House Road. The intended goal of the project is to improve sight distance and increase motorist safety.

The project will start at approximately 6:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12 and continue through Thursday, Aug. 22. Westbound traffic will be detoured around the work site via Sutton, Adams and Yatesville Roads. Eastbound traffic will be detoured around the site using the same roads in reverse order.
