The national weather service in binghamton has issued a winter weather advisory for snow which is in effect until 10 a.m. EST Friday in Yates, Seneca, Steuben and Schuyler County.

Snow could accumulate between 3 and 5 inches and temperatures will be in the lower 20s. Winds will be northwest 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Roads will be snow covered and slippery.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.

Please report snowfall and/or ice amounts to the national weather service by calling toll free at 1-877-633-6772...or by email at bgm.stormreport@noaa.gov.
