Ray Henry, Town of Canandaigua Historian, will present “The Owasco Stockaded Village at Canandaigua,” the story of what archaeologists found at this site, and what they have learned in the years since at 2 p.m. April 6 at the United Methodist Church in Rushville. Dr. William Ritchie, a New York State Archaeologist, conducted dig in 1935 and again in the 1950’s to uncover this extensive site. The presentation’s subject is how this site relates to the Iroquois nation. This program is sponsored by Ontario Yates Small Historical Societies and is free and open to the public.

Springtime-Swingtime

Penn Yan Kiwanis presents Springtime-Swingtime with the Southern Tier All-Star Jazz Band from 2 to 5 p.m. April 6 at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge. Light snacks, desserts, raffles. Donation $10 per person. For details, call 315-536-2663.
