Voters Pass Penn Yan Public Library 2014-2015 Budget
The Penn Yan Public Library budget vote was held April 8. The results were 135 yes and 25 no votes for the 2014-2015 budget of $621,754.
Richard Stewart and Peter Gamba were re-elected to the Library Board of Trustees for five year terms. Both say they look forward to continued service.
The library board anticipates breaking ground on the landscaping project this summer. The project will be partially funded with an anticipated New York State Library Construction grant. An outdoor learning area will be created which will provide pleasant exterior space for all to enjoy. The library plantings, signage, parking for cars, bicycles and buggies, entrance ramp, and outdoor lighting will all be modernized among many other planned updates. The public may see a drawing of the architectural plan on display at the library.
Donations from patrons, local businesses and service clubs, in addition to grants from local foundations are playing an important role in enabling the library to move forward with the landscaping project.
