KCCH annual golf tournament, a four-person scramble with scratch and handicap winners, will be held Monday, May 19 with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at Lakeside Country Club Penn Yan. The price to play is $75/golfer. Carts, greens fees, lunch and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be included.

Dale Lane, Mark Morse, and Fisher Tree Service will sponsor the Golf Ball Drop at the conclusion of the golf tournament. The winners will share in a percentage of the sales, and will be determined by the number of balls in the hole. The payout will be 15 percent for a ball in the hole, 10 percent for nearest to hole and 5 percent for second nearest. If more than one ball lands in the hole, the payout will be divided by the number of balls in the hole.

Numbered balls will be sold for $5 a chance prior to the drop from any golf committee members or at various locations around town. The golf ball drop is open to everyone, so come up around 5 p.m. to see the ball drop and find out who wins.

Several sponsorships are available: tournament, lunch, towel, and hole sponsor. To join the supporters of KCCH and the golf tournament, call KCCH at 315-536-1690 or Dick Correnti at 315-314-1353.

Garage Sale

Keuka Comfort Care Home is holding its annual garage sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday May 30, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday June 1, at the Yates County Fairgrounds on Old Rte 14A, Penn Yan. We will have volunteers, at the fairgrounds, to accept your donations on Monday, May 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday, May 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

When you are cleaning out your house this spring, please consider saving your best items for our garage sale. Bring those items to the fairgrounds on the Monday or Tuesday prior to the sale.

“Like new” household items, such as glassware, kitchenware, quilts and blankets, baby things, paintings and pictures, furniture, decorations, jewelry, linens, and more will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, May 28 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 at the fairgrounds. Volunteers will be on hand to accept donations.

Electronics, such as TV’s, computers, printers, large gym equipment or Christmas trees will not be accepted.

If you have a questionable item, please call Keuka Comfort Care Home 315-536-1690, prior to our take in dates of May 27 and May 28 to avoid being turned away. Organizers take pride in having a good, clean, successful garage sale with fair prices and nice items for sale.

Volunteers needed

Volunteers who would like to help out that week are being sought for set up May 27 and 28; tagging and sorting May 29 and 30; and the sale May 31 and June 1. “If you have a few hours to share with us that week, we would love to have your help. We are especially in need of people with good backs and a good truck to help us with the bigger donations. If you have a youth group who could help us out on Monday for a couple of hours early in the day, that would be great!” says Maureen Wise, event coordinator.
