Asphalt pavement overlay work on State Route 14A has been rescheduled for Monday, Sept. 26, weather permitting. The project will extend from the intersection of State Route 14A and Altay Road in the Town of Reading to approximately 220 feet south of the intersection of State Route 14A and Chambers Street in the Village of Dundee, for a total of approximately 6.6 miles. This phase of this project includes the Town of Starkey in Yates County and the Town of Reading in Schuyler County.

Motorists will encounter flaggers, lane closures and could experience travel delays. It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through the many highway and bridge construction zones they will encounter this season.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
